Fun First

So, Aaron & I had plans to go to WY with some friends of ours last weekend & it got cancelled at the last minute. So we decided that we were going to go camping instead. What an adventure! Aaron must have had some sort of premonition that things were going to be a little rough because he told the girls "our only goal is "FUN FIRST!"...everybody say it "FUN FIRST". We started out okay but couldn't find our futons (they got left at the cabin), so we decided to go camping up by the cabin & pick up the futons on our way. So off we go, up at the cabin pick up the futons, everything is going great except that it was already 7pm. We start driving up to Smith-Morehouse & come to find out that all the camping spots were taken. Back down the canyon...decided to stop & get some appetizers out to help pacify the kids. Back on the road, then Reese says she has to go, pull over to the side of the road, she goes, back in the car. Down to Kamas & back up a different Canyon (Mirror Lake Highway). Get to the toll station & no one is there to issue camping permits. Back down the canyon to the Smokehouse to buy a pass. By now it was 8:30pm, past Charley's bedtime & we still haven't had dinner. Aaron bought some yummy jerky at the smokehouse to once again pacify us. Back up the Canyon & pulled in to the first campground we got to. 8:45pm we finally get out of the car at a campsite. Who knows what time we ate dinner but it was a little charred as aaron couldn't see what he was doing. Oh, well. Roasted marshmallows for s'mores then to bed. Charley was all over the place & then decided to start throwing up at about 3am. Got up to get her new pj's & the wet wipes to sort of clean-up but she apparently wasn't done. She puked about 3 more times before we got up. Yuck. However, she acted like noting happened. She was fine. We ate breakfast then went on a little hike. The girls had a blast throwing rocks in the creek. Surprised neither one got pegged in the back of the head by misaimed pebbles/rocks. It really was fun. "FUN FIRST"

It's great to see Charley helping out w/ the tent. "Are we having fun yet, Daddy?" I hope Aaron's patience weathered well.
